I am going to “be real” with you on this blog. You will get to know me and my relationship with Christ. You will hear my stories, my mistakes, my victories, but most of all I pray that it will lead you to a deeper relationship with God. And if you don’t have one, please let me know and I will share with you how you can have a relationship with Him as well.
Things to know about me:
*I am a small town girl with a big heart. God blessed me with salvation at a very young age of 13. Daughter of a pastor, I was taught to love and fear God. I had the amazing gift to be raised in a Christian and loving home. My parents are hard working people that love their family and God, and it is evident in their life.
*I have 2 older brothers. Growing up with 2 brothers, was the way that God protected me from evil(mostly boys). I did not date until my late teenage years and looking back, I praise God for the many times that my “mean” brothers hung up the phone on boys or always checked up on me. Who knows what road I would’ve taken, had I not had my 2 brothers there for me. I am so thankful for the influence they have on my life.
*I met the love of my life, Stephen, at community college and after 3 years of dating we got married in 2003. We have been happily married for 10 years, it hasn’t been easy but we both have love and respect for each other and our roles as husband and wife.
*After 5 years of being married, our world was enhanced in a powerful way. Our Jude came along and made us 2 very happy parents. This energetic little boy has lots of love and is extremely smart. We are teaching him about our Lord and Savior and pray that He will come to know Christ and follow Him at an early age. We are declaring that He will change the world for Jesus.
*After another 5 years, Stephen prayed and fasted for us to have one more added to this Elmore household. I was totally content with our family of 3. I will share all that on one of my entries. She’s coming in October of 2013.
Things that I love:
I love the Lord, He is an Awesome God! He has done so many miraculous things in my life. I have had some ups and downs in my life, but I give HIM all the glory for walking along side me. I thank Him for my salvation. Not just so that I can go to heaven, but because I can have a living and actual relationship with the Creator God.
I love my husband, he is a godly man that loves God passionately and then his family. He is my best friend, my real life prince. There is no other that could hold my heart like him.
I love my sweet little powerhouse Jude. He brightens my day with his joy, laughter and love. He is also the most beautiful 5 year old boy in the world.
I love my sassy, fabulous 2 year old daughter! She has added so much happiness in our lives, I am so thankful God blessed me to be her mommy.
I love my parents, all the qualities they have instilled in me. I am still learning from them. My dad is so giving without ever asking for anything in return. My dad gave me a wonderful self esteem. He always told me that I was the best, pretty, and smart. Even if I wasn’t the best or the prettiest, I had a good self esteem. I thank him for speaking powerful words into me. My mom IS the Proverbs 31 Woman. To have her as an example in my life, is one of God’s greatest gifts to me. I love my brothers, my sister in laws, my beautiful nieces and nephews, & my in-laws. There is nothing like it to have a family like mine. I am sooo loved to have so many people that encourage and support me.
I love my church, Hope International. I love my pastors, Pastors Tony and Jodie McCoy. Through their messages, my family has grown closer to God in a way that we never dreamed of. But what impacts the Elmores more than anything, is the messages they speak not behind the pulpit, but in their lives. They have a powerful anointing in their lives and we are so blessed to be connected to them. The anointing flows down from them and we have seen and experienced things that I know happen because we are connected to them.
I love MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS is a place where moms are encouraged and supported by other moms who are in the very same season of life. I need to have fellowship with other moms that are dealing with the same issues I have. This group has helped me to keep my sanity in this thing I call mommyhood. I love what MOPS stands for, the motto is “helping moms become better moms.” This is done by speakers, videos, encouragement, or just some girl time, so that we can be refreshed and give more to our family.
I love my friends. I am so blessed with so many friends, Godly influences, and amazing mentors. For a long time, I did not want girlfriends, I was comfortable with my husband. But in this season of my life, I need girlfriends. Women talk 3x as much as men. Stephen needed me to have friends. I am so fortunate to have friends that love me and encourage me.
I love to read! I love Christian fiction, Francine Rivers and Karen Kingsbury are 2 of my favorite authors. I love to read devotionals and get inspired.
I love reality shows:) Shows like Survivor, the Apprentice, Big Brother, show me the real sides of the human nature and it truly interests me.
I love roller skating! Growing up, I was at Roll-Air Skating Rink in Mt. Dora 2-3x a week. If we had a skating rink close to home, I would visit it frequently:)
